In the Closet background

In the Closet

A statesman's legacy is reexamined as he grapples with the complexities of his illustrious career, facing the profound impacts of his choices on the nation's path forward.

In 2045, a conservative politician, Lamont Maxwell, reflects on his life, from his legislation on reparations to his personal struggles. As a child, Lamont witnessed the brutal murder of his parents by a sheriff and three men. This traumatic event led to his corruption and resentment, causing him to abandon his faith and family. He pursued a romantic relationship with his office assistant and became Lt. Governor. His two sons, Jonathan and Luke, were corrupted by their father's evil and joined the Black Foundation, a movement demanding reparations for African Americans. In 2045, the Black Foundation seeks apologies and reparations from former slave-trading countries and the US. As Luke discovers Christ, he tries to save himself, his brother, and father, but will it be too late for the Maxwell family?
