Jimmy Weston, a naval officer, becomes a boxer to rehabilitate his paralyzed arm after accidentally killing a shipmate during a battle. He turns pro, becomes a champion, and is signed by a manager who tries to get him to throw a fight. Jimmy refuses, but his manager hires a punch-drunk fighter as a sparring partner, who is later revealed to be dead. Jimmy is defeated, but signs for a rematch to give his purse to the fighter's family. However, his girlfriend and trainer discover the truth and bring the fighter to the arena, allowing Jimmy to win the fight and defeat his corrupt manager.
