After the American Civil War, Joshua, an African-American soldier, returns home to find his mother brutally murdered, her neighbor Sam severely wounded, and Sam's new bride kidnapped. The Sheriff's posse fails to capture the perpetrators, who disappear into the hills. Consumed by vengeance, Joshua sets out to track down and eliminate the killers one by one.
