A mysterious planet is discovered on the opposite side of the sun from Earth, making it invisible from our planet. To explore this new world, the European Space Exploration Council sends a spaceship carrying American astronaut Glenn Ross and British scientist John Kane. After a crash-landing, Ross awakens to find Kane near death and a surprising twist: they appear to have returned to Earth.
