In a Christian seminary, two friends, Sam and Bergman, take different paths. Sam becomes a devoted priest, while Bergman turns to smuggling and other illicit activities. Sam reforms a young boy, Thomas, and helps him fall in love with Beatrice, unaware that she is actually Bergman's daughter.
