A group of determined Confederate sympathizers launch a daring raid on a vital railroad building project in the American wilderness, setting the stage for a tumultuous national conflict.

Captain Nelson is tasked with stopping Southern saboteurs who are trying to prevent the construction of a railroad across Kansas, just before the start of the Civil War. As the tracks are built, Nelson faces growing violence from the saboteurs and tries to win the heart of Barbara, the daughter of the railroad foreman.
