Captain Roger Drum, a U.S.A.F. pilot, shoots down a mysterious plane and takes its place to deliver a message to a subversive group in Africa. He crashes in the jungle and is rescued by the Rock People, led by Princess Pha, who proclaim him Thunda, King of the Congo. However, his new status is met with suspicion by Princess Phi and Nahee, who are upset by his mistake in ringing the wrong gong.
