A man, Sigismond, is consumed by his desires, leading him to make reckless decisions. In Paris, he becomes infatuated with a stunning prostitute who bears a striking resemblance to his wife. His attempts to dominate her attention, however, are met with violence from her pimp. The news of his wife and son's death sends him into a tailspin of grief.
