Aksel and Grim, two high school boys, dream of entering the Norwegian national rock talent championship without seeking parental permission. They recruit 12-year-old cellist Thilda Berg Nilsen as their secret weapon and borrow a van from Martin, who's struggling with poverty and family expectations. After picking up a Swedish couple with car trouble, they seek advice from retired rock idol The Hammer, but their journey is marked by a police chase and a missing person report. Despite the obstacles, the band must come together to succeed at the contest.
