In the early 1900s, Lulu Belle's enchanting voice captivates a Natchez, Mississippi saloon, earning the devotion of lawyer George Davis, who abandons his fiancée and promising future to be with her.

In the early 1900s, Lulu Belle sings in a Natchez dive, where she meets George Davis, a rising young lawyer. He leaves his fiancée and career for her, but after his money runs out, Lulu Belle works in a New Orleans club run by Mark Brady. She tries to send George away by pretending to fall for Butch Cooper, but George's jealousy leads him to attack Butch. After George is imprisoned, Lulu Belle becomes a Broadway sensation with millionaire Harry Randolph, who proposes to her. However, she rejects him, realizing that George is the only man she truly loves.
