On August 11, 2007, Sophie Lancaster, a 20-year-old, suffered a devastating attack at the hands of a group of teenagers in a park.

Teenagers Sophie Lancaster and Rob Maltby, drawn to each other by their shared Goth appearance, face hostility in their small Lancashire town due to their unusual looks and piercings. A year later, they are attacked by a gang of thugs at a skateboard park, with Michael Gorman being the only one who doesn't participate and later calls for an ambulance.
