Carl Kurlander, a screenwriter and TV producer, leaves his life in Hollywood to teach at the University of Pittsburgh, seeking a more meaningful and balanced life. After Fred Rogers' death, the city of Pittsburgh declares financial distress. Kurlander embarks on a quest to make a film to help his hometown, interviewing neighbors, including Franco Harris, Teresa Heinz Kerry, and Joanne Rogers. The film explores what it means to come home again and how individuals can make a difference in re-energizing their communities.
