A young man, Arlin Grove, walks down a dusty Southern road, guitar in hand and few possessions, having just been released from the U.S. Army with no direction. He stumbles upon a Hootenanny in town, where his impressive voice and guitar skills are discovered, leading to a rapid rise to fame on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville.
