Set in the French Quarter of New Orleans after World War Two, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE follows Blanche DuBois, a fragile and neurotic woman searching for a sense of belonging. Exiled from her hometown for a scandalous affair, Blanche arrives at her sister Stella's doorstep, claiming exhaustion from a series of financial calamities that have ruined the family plantation. Her arrival sparks tension with Stella's husband Stanley, a brutish and territorial man who demands to see the bill of sale for the plantation. As Blanche tries to impose herself between Stanley and Stella, she realizes her predicament becomes unbearable as rumors of her past begin to surface.
