After being unfairly imprisoned for horse theft, Ned and his friends Dan, Joe, and Steve become outlaws in the eyes of the Victorian police. When Ned's sister is harassed by Constable Fitzpatrick and his mother is unfairly arrested and sentenced, the Kelly Gang retaliates against the oppressive government, ultimately leading to tragic consequences and cementing their place in Australian folklore.
