A researcher is sent to the Arctic to study wolves believed to be responsible for a caribou population decline. After being stranded, he's rescued by a local who introduces him to a hunter. The researcher discovers the wolves only eat mice and decides to follow their diet to prove the wolves aren't eating caribou. However, a herd of diseased caribou is later attacked by wolves, and the hunter's true intentions are revealed.
