A middle-aged writer/director returns to his New York apartment after a divorce, only to find three young women living there temporarily. The women, Lucy, Annie, and Winona, each have their own aspirations and struggles, including Lucy's desire to start anew in Hollywood, Annie's uncertainty about her life's direction, and Winona's longing to start a family. As a series of guests arrive for a party at the apartment, the women's conversations spark inspiration in Drew, leading him to reevaluate his life and consider a fresh start.
