The movie "I cento passi" tells the story of Peppino Impastato, a young left-wing activist who denounced the criminal activities of Tano Badalamenti, a powerful Mafia boss, through a local radio station in the late 1970s. Despite repeated threats, Peppino continued to speak out against the Mafia until his murder in 1978. The case was initially ruled an accident or suicide, but his friends never accepted this conclusion. Over 20 years later, the case was reopened and Badalamenti was eventually convicted of drug trafficking in the US.
