A performer's life is tragically cut short backstage, setting off a dramatic trial that puts another performer's future at risk in the world of vaudeville.

A vaudeville performer is brutally murdered, and the police mistakenly arrest a fellow troupe member. As the accused's trial approaches, a lone juror, Beppo, a Scandinavian clown named Hermann, fights to clear the man's name and secure an acquittal.
