A 12-year-old boy named Micky lives with his siblings at his grandmother's house, still grieving the loss of their parents. When a meteorite lands in their backyard, they believe it's a sign from their parents, sent from the stars. The government takes the meteorite, and the kids embark on a journey to retrieve it, meeting a kind-hearted scientist who becomes their ally. Meanwhile, their parent's best friend, who was supposed to care for them, is forced to go into hiding after narrowly escaping a hit due to his own drug addiction.
