In the town of Coyote Gulch, a gang led by Red Mathews is determined to prevent the arrival of the railroad. When the notorious gunslinger Thunderbolt arrives, Banker Wingate offers him a job to take down the gang. Thunderbolt accepts, motivated by his attraction to Judy Lane, and successfully eliminates the gang. However, he is soon captured by the gang just as they plan to disrupt the ceremony honoring the railroad president.
