Legendary Israeli basketball coach Ralph Klein becomes a national hero when he leads Maccabi Tel Aviv to European Champions in the late Seventies. However, he is later considered a national traitor after accepting the job of turning West-Germany's basketball team into European winners. Despite his reluctance to connect with the team, he forms a bond with a Turkish immigrant woman and her daughter, and together they achieve success. Along the way, Max discovers a dark secret about his own family's past and is forced to confront his demons.
