Mexican renegade Don Carlos, wanted for espionage, disguises himself as a horse buyer and targets the prized horse "Black King". He arranges a race between his own horse and "Black King", with the winning owner getting the other's horse. Carlos tries to fix "Black King" to lose, but things don't go as planned. The horse's owner, Jim Riddle, and his niece's suitor, Bob Horton, become embroiled in the chaos.
