Avinash, a principled M.A. student, leaves his wealthy father's house due to philosophical differences. He works as a part-time writer, attracting the admiration of Geeta, his classmate and daughter of a textile mill owner. They get married and have a child, but Avinash struggles to manage the extended family. Financial insecurity leads him to join a publishing house, causing him to compromise his values and lose Geeta. Realizing his mistake, Avinash quits his job and starts anew at his ex-professor's publishing house.
