Nikhil, a young man from India, moves to Canada to start a new life. His uncle, Chetan, sponsors him and arranges a job at Cohen Hospital Supplies, a family-run business. Nikhil's first challenge is to care for Sam, the company's founder, who is struggling with senility and a desire to return to Israel. Despite initial difficulties, Nikhil forms a bond with Sam and learns to call him "Zayda" (father). When Morris and Hannah leave for a trip, Nikhil takes Sam to his apartment, where they experience freedom, but this leads to dire consequences for both of them.
