George Kimball, a hypochondriac, misdiagnoses himself with a terminal illness after a doctor's visit and believes he has only two weeks to live. To secure his wife Judy's future, he keeps his supposed diagnosis a secret and secretly tries to find her a new partner. However, when he finally reveals the truth, Judy discovers it's just a ruse to conceal an affair and decides to leave him.
