Soledad, a reclusive artist, leaves her old life behind to live in the desert, where she's surrounded by beauty and paints her surroundings. She's joined by Hillary, a troubled woman, on a journey to Flagstaff for a gallery review. When their car breaks down, they hitchhike and meet Louis, Hillary's brother, who has a car they can borrow. As they arrive in Phoenix, the journey takes a dark turn, and Soledad finds herself entangled in a complex web of secrets and lies that can only be escaped by returning to a family's backyard.
