Stelvio. Crossroads of Peace

The Stelvio Pass, a breathtaking alpine treasure, is showcased in this documentary. Located in the Italian Alps, it's a place where the present meets the past, and visitors can experience stunning landscapes and mountain sports. The pass hosts the famous stage of the Giro d'Italia, while the Stelvio alpine glacier is a summer skiing destination. However, the area has a darker history, as it was the site of the White War, a brutal battle during World War I. Today, remnants of that war can still be found in the snow, collected by Mario Pasinetti, a hotel porter and former soldier. The documentary follows Mario and other locals, including a forest ranger, a skiing champion, an airplane pilot, and a shaman, to reveal the unexpected power and magic of this alpine microcosm.
