A lovable but hapless foundling, Beaky Buzzard, is taken in by a kindly English sparrow couple, Monte and Gwendlyn. However, Beaky's well-meaning attempts to learn from Monte, such as catching a chicken, lead to a series of unfortunate mishaps, including Monte's repeated mallet-wielding and a grenade explosion.
