Two girls from the North of England travel to Torquay in Devon for summer work as chamber maids. They meet two boys, including one who's participating in the "round the bay" swimming race. However, their summer takes a turn when a rival gang frames the swimmer for a robbery, leading to his arrest just before the race. The swimmer escapes and confronts his accuser, forcing a confession before going on to win the race.
