In 19th century London, barber Sweeney Todd lures wealthy clients to his Fleet Street shop, murdering them for their money. His accomplice, Mrs. Lovatt, disposes of the bodies through her bakery below. Todd uses his ill-gotten gains to fund his plan to force Stephen Oakley's daughter Joanna to marry him, but her boyfriend Mark Ingerstreet's return from a wealthy voyage threatens Todd's scheme, sparking jealousy in Mrs. Lovatt.
