The First Men in the Moon background

The First Men in the Moon

A charming old man shares a magical story with a curious young boy at a quaint fair, transporting him to 1909 where he recounts meeting a brilliant scholar who claimed to have created a time machine.

In 1909, a struggling writer named Julius Bedford met Professor Cavor, who had invented a gravity-defying substance called Cavorite. They built a sphere using the substance and traveled to the Moon, where they were captured by ant-like creatures called Selenites.
