The former commander of Auschwitz concentration camp, Rudolf Franz Ferdinand Höss, is imprisoned in Poland in 1946, reflecting on his years of service at the notorious camp.

In 1946, Rudolf Höss, Auschwitz's longest serving commander, awaits trial in a Polish prison. A young and successful Polish judge, Albert, is tasked with interrogating Höss and securing a full confession. Their encounter exposes the disturbing routine and normalization of evil that occurred in the camp.
