The story follows Alice and Cora Munro as they embark on a perilous journey to find their father, a British officer, in the midst of the French and Indian War. However, their quest is disrupted by French soldiers and Huron tribesmen led by the ruthless Magua. The women's rescue efforts are aided by Chingachgook and his son Uncas, the last of the Mohican tribe, and their white ally, the skilled frontiersman Natty Bumppo, also known as Hawkeye.
