Tommy Madden, a Wausau native, achieves success in professional baseball, but is later forced to leave due to shame. After his mother's sudden passing, he returns home, only to face his father's disappointment, despite being hailed as a hero by others. With the support of his high school sweetheart, Tommy confronts his past and leads his hometown friends, now known as The Marksmen, to the national softball fastpitch tournament.
