Successful architect Don Gresham takes a young actress, Patty O'Neill, on a dinner date at his apartment. Patty claims to be an excellent cook, but after a minor accident, she changes into Don's bathrobe. Meanwhile, Don's ex-fiancée Cynthia and her father David pay a visit, with David making a proposal of marriage to Patty and giving her a $600 gift. Don discovers the situation and becomes enraged, leading to a physical confrontation with David.
