A former soldier becomes entangled with the American Communist party, and forms a romantic connection with his instructor. However, their relationship is short-lived as they discover the harsh consequences of questioning the party's ideology when a member is brutally dealt with by party leaders. Faced with the threat of assassination, the couple must evade the party's ruthless killers to escape their fate.
