Two coworkers, initially feuding, secretly exchange letters, uncovering hidden emotions and ultimately discovering their romantic feelings for each other.
In Budapest, Hungary, a salesman named Alfred Kralik is fired by his boss, Mr. Hugo Matuschek, without explanation. Unbeknownst to Kralik, his former boss has misjudged him and made a mistake. Meanwhile, Kralik has been secretly corresponding with a woman, Klara Novak, who is also a saleswoman at the same store.
