In 1912 West Africa, a broke American explorer poses as a geologist and joins forces with a wealthy diamond mogul on a treacherous search for a colossal diamond, only to find themselves pursued by a gang of merciless treasure seekers.

The 1975 film "The Man Who Would Be King" is a comedy adventure based on a Jules Verne novel, following the adventures of jewel thieves in the African wilderness around 1900. The story centers around a charming but flawed hero, played by George Segal, and the captivating Ursula Andress, who brings a sense of glamour to the film. Notably, Orson Welles makes a brief appearance in the movie.
