Terkel, a bullied sixth grader, finds solace in mocking Fat Doris, an unpopular classmate. After her attempted suicide, Terkel becomes popular, but struggles with his newfound fame. He turns to self-destructive behavior, including drinking and gun ownership. However, his life takes a strange turn when he receives death threats, leading him to confide in his unconventional and inappropriate teacher.
