Janeane Garofalo plays Dr. Abby Barnes, the host of a radio show who unwittingly attracts a listener with her soothing voice and personality. When the listener, Brian, tries to meet her, he mistakes Uma Thurman's character Noelle for Abby. Abby, feeling self-conscious, lets Noelle take her place, adopting the persona of Donna, while thinking Brian would never be interested in her.
