A charming cowboy seizes an opportunity to become a ranch foreman by pretending to be a notorious outlaw, ultimately resolving a long-standing conflict over grazing land and water rights.

Mild-mannered Friendly Fields is mistaken for notorious outlaw Blackie Burke and plays along, using his new identity to demand the best grazing land for his boss, Miss Blair. However, his ruse is soon threatened when his mother arrives to reveal the truth, just as the real Blackie Burke shows up.
