Corey Robinson discovers his own dead body in a field on April 16th, and soon takes his own life. His grief-stricken family enlists Detective Benjamin Reiter to investigate Corey's death, but things take a strange turn as Reiter becomes obsessed with Corey's sister and plagued by visions of a long-dead serial killer, known as The Angel. As the mystery unfolds, Reiter's mind becomes increasingly unhinged, and the desolate landscape of suburban Nebraska provides a haunting backdrop.
