In 1974, a 12-year-old girl named Jan Broberg was kidnapped from her community in Idaho. She was returned five weeks later, but despite her parents and the courts being informed, she insisted that nothing had happened, allowing the pedophile to go free and ultimately leading to her second abduction and a long period of abuse.
