Adam's Woman background

Adam's Woman

A young American man is mistakenly implicated in a murder while on leave in Liverpool, leading to a death sentence that's later commuted to a twenty-year term in a penal colony.

A young American, Adam, is wrongly accused of murder and sentenced to 20 years in an Australian convict settlement. Despite the death sentence being commuted, Adam's life is forever changed. However, his fortunes take a turn when the Governor, Sir Philip MacDonald, selects him to participate in a plan to settle Australia by allowing convicts to marry and own land. Adam is paired with Bess, a young Irish woman, and together they face the challenges of the Australian outback.
