Mark Anderson, a frail stroke victim, and his best friend Thomas, a drag queen, set out to find Mark's son James, the love of his life. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Billy Houston, who was thrown out of his house by his abusive father after getting his first kiss from his best friend, hitchhikes to the city and finds a job as James's caretaker. Billy learns valuable lessons about independence, responsibility, and being gay, and unexpectedly falls in love with James, forming an unbreakable bond with Mark.
