A troubled juvenile delinquent is sent to a reform school instead of prison, where he initially charms the headmistress and pushes everyone else's buttons. However, a marshal sets out to uncover the root of Danny's anger and discovers that he believes he is responsible for his mother's death, which is not true. After a final attempt to escape, Danny learns the truth and is returned to the reform school, but ultimately graduates from Texas A&M's ROTC program, having redeemed himself from a life of crime.
