In 1994, a 25-year-sleeping vampire named Boya awakens in Toronto after being hit by a golf ball. He retrieves his belongings from a grave and checks into a nearby hotel, where he's drawn to an all-night donut shop. Boya has abandoned his human blood diet, instead feasting on rats and pigeons. He befriends a taxi driver, Earl, and falls for the waitress Molly, while his former flame Rita searches for him, longing for her lost youth.
