Brideshead Revisited background

Brideshead Revisited

In pre-war England, a poignant tale unfolds, capturing the bittersweet romance of two young hearts and the fleeting nature of childhood innocence.

World War II. Charles Ryder, an up-and-coming artist and Army officer, reminisces about his doomed relationship with the wealthy Flyte family at Brideshead estate. He first met Sebastian Flyte, an eccentric and wealthy friend, at Oxford, where Charles got caught up in Sebastian's family struggles and fell in love with his sister Julia. However, their relationship was complicated by Lady Marchmain, the family matriarch, who ruled the family with a strict Catholic lifestyle.
