Eddie Albert plays Bing Edwards, a candidate for a baseball coaching job at Virginia Military Institute. He's aided by fellow-VMI grad Billy Randolph, whose father has influence over the decision. However, Billy's meddling causes trouble, leading to Bing losing the job and his friend Ronald Reagan's job as well. The friends move in with Bing's uncle, where they cause more chaos. Eventually, Billy's publicity stunt involving a baby helps them secure jobs with the uncle's airline.
